When I designed my coaching packages, I looked at ways to leverage evidence-based approaches to behavior change with what we know from functional medicine. In many circumstances, factors such as those listed above receive little to no emphasis and, therefore, patients do not observe favorable, lasting results. Taking the functional approach to weight loss is supportive of whole health and sustainable wellness. I believe, moving forward, it is of utmost service to incorporate these areas into any health program, but especially ones that center on losing weight!
