In 2006, yep 13 years ago, Harvard Medical School published a succinct list; 12 Ways to Keep Your Brain Young. They have since made a few tweaks to the post, however, left it up as an active resource on their website.
It has really only been in the last few years that lifestyle health approaches in support of the brain have gone mainstream. (In fact, sometimes I even have to take a step back in making that sort of claim since I work in a proactive bubble as an integrative health focused practitioner). However, last year, popular health and wellness media sources such as Mind Body Green, put it on the top wellness trends to watch in 2019 list!
Cognitive related diseases, such as Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, are increasing in worldwide prevalence. In fact, Alzheimer's is considered one of the fastest growing epidemics in the western world. Scientifically, we now understand that lifestyle and environmental factors do play a role in their manifestation.
Ding, ding, ding!
